FAQs Primary Vote Phase

Our process probably will not be perfect this first try. But this FAQ should answer

some questions.

1) Question:

How do I access the survey?  The information is being posted on SillyYaks, you can also send email to the coordinator. We can not post that information here.  A link will be provided to the survey to use with your browser.
Answer:
The information is being posted on SillyYaks, you can also send email to the coordinator. We can not post that information here.  A link will be provided to the survey to use with your browser.

2) Question:

I don't see my favorite product listed?

Answer:
If you nominated the product during the nominations phase, please check the Nominations page on this website to see the status of that product entry.  Several products had to be shifted to other categories or product areas.

3) Question:

Do I have to answer every question on the survey?

Answer:
To keep costs down, we have a single survey with a lot of questions.  You must answer every question on a given page to proceed to the next page.  There should be a "no opinion" option for each question which will not count towards the vote totals for that product area.

4) Question:

I don't have the time to do this all at once sessions!?!  What happens if I have to go do something else?

Answer:
The survey allows you to "exit" and if you log in from the same computer, it will automatically pick up where you left off.

5) Question:

There are several eligible voters at my place, how do they get to vote?

Answer:
The survey only allows one vote per computer.  So, the other eligible voter(s) must find another computer(s) to login to the survey.  This allows the function described in Question 4 to work properly and discourages large numbers of "muliple votes" from a single voter.

FAQs Nominations Phase

Our process probably will not be perfect this first try. But this FAQ should answer

some questions.

1) Question:
Are the Homer/Tailend award is the same thing? Or is one the "good"
nomination and the Tailend is the "bad" nomination?

Answer:

SillyYak Homer -
Nominate a product that you think is the winner in that category.

SillyYak Tailend -

Nominate a product that you think is something that you would never
want to buy, under any circumstances, again. A separate list will be
kept for this category. There may be only a few products that
deserve to be recognized in this manner.

Mediocre or "ok" stuff for that category, you should not worry
about. We want to recognize the best and let people know about the
worst.

2)Question:

Should we allow nominations for food items that are not labeled "GF"
or "Wheat free"?

Answer:

We are recognizing "GF food lists" and "mainstream manufacturers"
under other categories. So, for this first annual SillyYak Homer
and Tailend awards, lets limit the food categories to items that are
labeled "GF" or "wheat-free" or "marketed towards the GF/wheat-free
consumer" (If the product is advertised in a GF magazine or publication

or in some other way marketed to the GF/WF consumer). This focus on

the GF/WF consumer demonstrates is the effort that we want to award.

And then we can revise our list/process based upon additional input
next time around.

3)Question:
Will people send their nominations for our category to us?

Answer:
For each category, people will send in their nominations for a
product area to the chairperson for that category. Under each
product area, the category chairperson will keep a list of the
products nominated.

Occasionally,we will post the list to this web site so that people

know what products have been nominated.

Once we have a list of nominated products, we'll setup a vote
for the products. During the nomination process, we are just getting names,

not trying to tabulate the votes.
